Blazers in Middle of Pack to Win 2017 NBA Title in Way-Too-Early Vegas Odds

Wasting no time following the Cleveland Cavaliers' Game Seven NBA Finals victory over the Golden State Warriors Sunday evening, ESPN has released the Vegas odds to win the 2017 NBA Finals via the the Westgate Las Vegas Sportsbook.

Despite falling in the Finals, Golden State enters the summer at 3-2 odds to capture the Larry O'Brien Trophy next season while Cleveland begins its offseason at 5-2 odds. The Portland Trail Blazers head into 2016-17 at 60-1 odds, the same odds as the Minnesota Timberwolves, New Orleans Pelicans and Houston Rockets.

The odds should be taken with a grain of salt, however, as this summer projects to be a busy one as it pertains to free agency. It should also be noted that the Westgate Las Vegas Sports projected the Blazers at 200-1 odds and 26.5 wins last September before Portland recorded a 44-38 record to earn the fifth seed in the Western Conference.
