Walton Gets "Healed" by The Dead

Leading the Trail Blazers to the 1977 NBA title and winning the 1977-78 NBA Most Valuable Player award, Bill Walton played in 230 regular and postseason games for the franchise from 1974-78. Walton is perhaps the most recognizable figure in Rip City history.

Despite those 230 games played in Portland, that number pales in comparison to Walton's true passion: The Grateful Dead. The "Deadhead Redhead" has attended 856 Dead shows in his lifetime, and is currently following the band's five farewell shows in Santa Clara, Calif. and Chicago this summer.

Standing nearly seven feet tall, the Trail Blazer legend can't be missed standing in the sea of tie-dye. Fortunately, Twitter exists today for Walton to share the experience with Rip City and the world.
