Bucks dedicate new Toyota Project Rebound Reading & Learning Center

MILWAUKEE -- The Milwaukee Bucks teamed up with the NBA Cares Toyota Project Rebound initiative to unveil a newly refurbished Learning and Reading Center at Milwaukee’s Urban Day School on Tuesday. Bucks guard Ramon Sessions was joined by Bucks TV broadcaster Jim Paschke and Bango, among others, to discuss the importance of education in the lives of the Urban Day students’ lives.
Following the discussion and Q&A session, the students were led from the school gymnasium to the new $65,000 Learning and Reading Center refurbishment which included a fully furnished computer lab with 27 new computers, a brand new reading corner with $5,000 in new books for the library, a resource lab with new computers and furniture as well as 13 new computers to be placed in the early learning rooms of the school. The new Learning and Reading Center was an instant hit as some students worked on the computers, others read books and another group enjoyed a story read by Ramon Sessions.
Toyota Project Rebound is a community initiative established by the NBA and Toyota and includes 15 community rebuilding projects, including court refurbishments, the creation of Learning & Play Centers, and other Legacy Projects that have taken place during the 2007-08 season, 2008 NBA All-Star weekend and will continue through the 2008 NBA Finals.
