Each month the Cleveland Cavaliers award a teacher and a student for outstanding achievements through the team's Head of the Class and All-Star Kids programs with a surprise visit at their schools and a special presentation during Cavaliers games at Gund Arena.

The Head of the Class program recognizes teachers in Cuyahoga County for making a difference in their students’ lives both inside an outside the classroom. Teachers are nominated by their principals or peers, and the winners are chosen based on their outstanding contributions to education.

For the month of April, the Cavaliers recognized India Ford, an eighth grade language arts teacher that also coaches track and cross country from Milkovich Middle School in Maple Heights, Ohio as the Head of the Class winner at the Cavaliers vs. the Boston Celtics game on April 19th at Gund Arena.

Cavalier legend Campy Russell and team mascot Moondog made a surprise visit to the winner’s school to present them with a super-sized ticket to the Cavaliers games in April and a gift bag.
