Pre-Audition Jam Sessions

CLEVELAND, OH - July 15th, 2008 - The Cleveland Cavaliers are looking for the perfect combination of the best dancers and most enthusiastic entertainers in northeast Ohio to be members of the 2008-09 Scream Team. The Scream Team, a dynamic group of performers that possess both dance and athletic abilities, are a central part of the Cavaliers high-energy game entertainment repertoire.

Named by Scene Magazine as “2006 Best In-Game Entertainment,” the squad has gained popularity with their tumbling and break-dance stunts, seemingly defying gravity with head spins and dance moves. The 2007-08 Scream Team also performed internationally for the NBA China preseason games and were only one of two entertainment teams invited to the 2008 NBA All-Star Weekend in New Orleans.

The preliminary open-call audition for the 2008-09 Scream Team will be held at the Quicken Loans Arena on Saturday, July 26th. Registration begins at 9:00 a.m. and the audition will begin promptly at 10:00 a.m. Finalists will be called back for a Sunday, July 27th audition.

Dance and/or performing experience is preferred but not required. Pre-audition Jam Sessions (workshops) are strongly recommended. Scream Team members must have flexible schedules to accommodate rehearsals, all home games (including preseason and postseason) and various community and promotional appearances. Interested candidates are encouraged to pre-register at www.cavs.com. Walk-ups will be accepted and are asked to arrive early to complete the paperwork. A non-refundable $10 application processing fee and photograph are required.
