Players to Give Shirts Off Their Backs and Shoes off Their Feet Cavaliers vs. Boston, Tuesday, April 19th at 7:00 p.m.

CLEVELAND, April 15 – The Cavaliers plan on saying “THANKS FANS!” in a big way at their final regular season home game at Gund Arena on Tuesday, April 19th. Fan Appreciation Night presented by Cingular will be a night of abundant gratitude when the Cavaliers show fans the team’s appreciation for another season of tremendous support.

Fans will be on the receiving end of the game night celebration of thanks that will be highlighted by over a half a million dollars worth of giveaways. At halftime, one of 10 pre-registered finalists will win a K. Hovnanian Dream Home. The night will conclude with the players giving away the shirts off their backs and the shoes off their feet.

“To date, we have had 16 sellouts with an average of 19,055 in attendance per game. We rank near the top in NBA attendance, and have one of the best home records in the league,” said Cavaliers President Len Komoroski. “The support we receive from our fans truly impacts our success and we want to say thanks.”

The moment fans walk through the doors for the 7:00 p.m. game versus the Boston Celtics, they will know the night is dedicated to them. Everyone will be greeted with a Get Crazy Loud! gift bag filled with items to make some noise and a Cavaliers All for One. One for All. poster. The Gund Arena concourse will be full of fun activities for the whole family.

During the game, fans can look forward to feeling the love, while being showered with the giveaways that keep on coming. They will include:

Quicken Loans will donate up to $20,000 in home mortgage payments. Anyone over the age of 18 (who is a homeowner, rents or leases) can register to win three months of mortgage payments up to $5,000. One winner will be randomly drawn during each quarter of the game.

Prize patrols made up of UPS representatives identified by their well-known brown uniforms will roam seating sections throughout the game handing out a potpourri of giveaway items donated from the Cavaliers’ family of corporate partners. Valuable coupons, gift certificates to many of Cleveland’s finest restaurants and retail establishments, movie tickets, specialized merchandise, collector’s items and so much more!

FirstMerit Sling Shot will propel 1,000 t-shirts into the stands during a timeout.

In addition to the over $500,000 in giveaway items, one lucky winner will have the key that opens the door to the Cavaliers and K. Hovnanian Homes Dream Home. Throughout the season, in the “Design and Win Home Giveaway,” residents of Ohio have been able to log onto ClevelandCavaliers.com to vote on their favorite features for the dream home. Everyone that voted was also eligible to register to win the dream home. Ten finalists were chosen and on Fan Appreciation Night at halftime, one of them will hold the key that opens the door to their new dream home!

“With over a half of million dollars in giveaways, I think it is safe to say that anyone attending the game will go home happy,” said Komoroski. “As we thank our fans on that night, we must also thank our corporate partners who are playing a key role in making this all possible.”

Fans will also be treated to special messages and acts of appreciation from the players, and off-the-court activities will add to the high-energy fun that has been a part of the Cavaliers experience all season long.

At the end of the game, in the “Shirts Off Our Backs, Shoes Off Our Feet” giveaway, 15 fans will be randomly selected to win one game-worn player jersey and 30 will win one game-worn shoe from that night’s game. Immediately following the game, the players will return to the court to hand out their jerseys and shoes to the 45 lucky fans.

Moondog, Cavalier Girls, Beefcakes on the Lake and Scream Team Members to Greet Fans to Say ‘Thanks’

In a planned act of gratitude, the Cavaliers game entertainment troupe will be out and about on Monday, April 18th to get an important message out to the community – THANKS FANS!

On the eve of Fan Appreciation Night presented by Cingular at the Cavaliers vs. Boston Celtics game at Gund Arena on Tuesday, April 19th, the entourage that includes team mascot Moondog and members of the Cavalier Girls, Beefcakes on the Lake and the Scream Team will be greeting riders arriving at the RTA Station in Tower City on Monday morning. During the lunch hour, they will host a “Thanks Fans Party” at Tower City Center at the grand staircase.

Cavaliers “Morning Rush Thank You” at Tower City RTA Station 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.

RTA Rapid Transit riders boarding or exiting the trains will be greeted by Moondog, members of the Cavalier Girls, Beefcakes on the Lake and the Scream Team. They will pass out Krispy Kreme donuts and an assortment of special giveaways to say “Thanks Fans” from the Cavaliers!

Cavaliers “Thanks Fans! Party” at Tower City Grand Staircase Noon to 1:00 p.m.

Contests and prizes! Special giveaways! T-shirt toss! ….. . Stop by to meet the Cavaliers family of entertainers and get in on the fun! The Cavalier Girls will perform and sign autographs, and Cavalier legends Austin Carr and Campy Russell will sign autographs and address the crowd. It’s a lunch-hour party to say Thanks Fans!
