Do you want to sing the National Anthem before a Boston Celtics game? This is your opportunity to try out! The Celtics are looking for the best talent in New England to perform the National Anthem on the famed parquet floor throughout the 2014-15 NBA season. Talented solo performers, groups, instrumentalists, and other unique performers of all ages are invited to attend an open audition on Tuesday, May 6th from 12 p.m. - 5 p.m. at the Hard Rock Cafe in Boston. Performers will be required to sing the first four lines of the song ONLY. A closed final audition will be held the following day, May 7th at 3pm at the Hard Rock Cafe where finalists will be required to perform the full song. Call backs will be made to all selected finalists the evening of May 6th. These auditions are presented by TD Bank, America’s Most Convenient Bank®.
The audition on May 6th will be open call and on a first-come, first-served basis. Upon arrival, each contestant will receive a number and be asked to perform the first four lines of the song for the judges when their number is called. The audition room is not open to the public, but one guest may be admitted with each participant. Additional family and friends are welcome to enjoy the restaurant during the audition process. All auditions will be a cappella, and there will be no accompaniments. A select number of finalists, as chosen by the judges, will be asked to perform the anthem prior to the Celtics regular season games at the Garden during the 2014-15 season.
Parking for auditions is available in local parking garages surrounding the Hard Rock Café for a fee. Contestants are encouraged to take public transportation where available. Performers should enter the main entrance and follow the signs to the audition room.
