In just one short, wonderfully hectic, month as C.O.O of the Albuquerque Thunderbirds I have learned so much about the NBA Development League. Although I acknowledge I still have much more to pick up.
The NBA family is close knit group and the support from the other D-league teams and the NBA is unsurpassed. The NBA really goes out of their way to provide resources not only to get the job done, but bring the best product and value to our fans in Albuquerque.
Coming into an organization like the Thunderbirds, who won a championship in their first season, the bar has been set pretty high. I am extremely fortunate to have acquired a staff that includes veterans who have been here since the beginning along with a group of young, talented and passionate new comers.
We all work hard everyday to continually bring an affordable quality of entertainment to Tingley Coliseum. We leave the basketball part to the experts, being the coaches and players. The team has been terrific community partners, making visits all around the state in an effort to drive fans to experience a Thunderbirds game.
We're already planning new things for next year and I look forward to sharing them as we go along this summer.
