John Coffino

Coffino joins the Thunderbirds staff as an Assistant Coach in the team’s third season. Most recently Coffino was with St. Peter’s College as an Admissions Counselor.

He served as an assistant coach at St. Peter’s for the past four years. Coffino started his coaching career at Westchester Community College in Valhalla, NY where he served as an assistant and associate head coach for six seasons. There, Coffino assisted Ralph Arietta, the all-time winningest coach in junior college history.

After his stint at Weschester, Coach Coffino spent time at the Division I level as an administrative assistant at Iona College. In his two years at Iona, Coffino was on the staff when the Gaels advanced to the 1998 NCAA Division I Tournament. Before coaching his four years at St. Peter’s he spent three seasons at Niagara. John Coffino is a native of the Bronx, where he graduated from Mt. St. Michael Academy.
