Storm Chasers Choreographer |

The third annual Storm Chasers tryouts recently finished up and to be quite honest I was very pleased, not only with the turnout but also with the squad compiled for the upcoming 2007 – 08 season.
This year we had almost 50 girls register and over 40 tryout and although the number isn’t staggering the talent level was very impressive. It was very hard to come up with this year’s team because there were so many great girls there.
We kept 9 girls from last years team and added 10 new ones. We did loose 4 girls from last season to various professional teams, which is a good sign for the direction the team is progressing. The Storm Chasers have turned into a great stepping stone for girls who want to dance at a professional level and I think last year only helped to spark a real interest in what our dancers are capable of.
As for this year, it will be my third as the teams Choreographer and I am really looking forward to it. Again we have a very young squad with most of the girls recently graduating from high school, which is great because it ads to the energy and excitement.
I am really thrilled about this team and think that they are going to be a great group to work with. My goals for this season are to get the girls on some sort of road trip to another D-League game to see some other dancers so that they know how good they really are, and possibly down the road I would love to see some of them invited to the D-league All-Star game.
All and all I feel like everyone is going to love the team and that it’s going to be a very fun season!
