(Bakersfield, Calif., June 21, 2007) – The Bakersfield Jam, members of the NBA Development League, today announced they will be holding tryouts for the 2007-2008 Jam Dance Team on Sunday, July 15 at Body Exchange, located at 2749 N. Calloway Drive (Rosedale and Calloway) in Bakersfield. Tryouts begin at 5:00 p.m. with registration starting at 4:30.

“We can’t wait to see the best dancers Kern County has to offer,” says Michael Hirsch, Jam team president. “The dance team plays an integral role in the ‘show’ we put on, as well as representing the Jam in the community.”

Tryouts are open to women 18 and over, and participants will be taught a routine to perform – both in a large group and in groups of three. The routine will be judged by a panel of four, including Christina Loren from KERO-TV and Tanya “T” Steward from KUZZ AM55/FM 107.9. Judges will determine the final 14 to be the ’07-’08 squad.

Dance team members will perform at Jam home games, assist in promotions throughout the games, and make community appearances throughout the off-season and during the season.
