Career Highlights: Named Second-Team All-Horizon by the coaches and the media and to the All-Defensive Team following the 2006-07 season. Named Second-Team All-Horizon as a sophomore and to the All-Defensive team. Sat out the 2005-06 season as a medical redshirt.
Senior (2006-07): Finished second in scoring (13.7 ppg) and led the team in rebounding (10.6 rpg). Scored in double figures 21 times, including a season-high 25 points on 10-for-16 shooting in a loss to Canisius. Posted 16 double-doubles. Posted 23 points (10-for-16 FG) and 12 rebounds against Buffalo, and 20 points and 11 rebounds against Illinois-Chicago. Had a season-high 16 rebounds against Northeastern and 15 rebounds against Butler. Blocked two or more shots 14 times.
Junior (2004-05): Finished third in scoring (7.5 ppg), and second in rebounding (7.5 rpg) and field goal percentage (.529). Scored in double figures eight times, with a season-high of 15 points against Gannon. Recorded a season-high three blocked shots against Bowling Green. Had a double-double (11 points, 10 rebounds) against Butler. Posted a career-high 11 rebounds against Wright State.
Sophomore (2003-04): Scored in double figures 11 times with a season-high 19 points against Butler. Posted a season-high 10 rebounds in a win over Illinois-Chicago. Had 15 points and seven rebounds in a win over Chicago State and 15 points and seven rebounds in Detroit’s first meeting against Butler. Had five blocks against Chicago State and four blocks in a win over Loyola-Chicago. Set a school record as he shot .637 percent from the field and led the Horizon league. Finished third in the league in blocks (1.3).
Freshman (2002-03): Played in 28 games. Averaged 2.5 points and blocked 19 shots.
Strengths: Bruiser in the paint who is a good position rebounder. Likes to mix it up. Has shown improving offensive skills in the post.
Personal: Son of Lewis Covile. One of nine children.
