Joined by 90 campers coming from 18 cities around the country, the opening ceremony of the camp started at 9 am this morning at the stadium of Peking Univeristy Health and Science Center. VIPs who attended the ceremony included officials from Amway and NBA, Jr .NBA Coaches Frank Lopez and Donnie Arey, and of course NBA Legend BJ Armstrong. Despite the early hours, the opening ceremony also attracted over 30 media members from print, online and TV stations.

After the ceremony, BJ joined campers for warm-up games and assisted in coaching at the skills stations. Morning trainings included major ball-handling and footwork skills such as passing, shooting, dribbling and defense. Coaches Frank and Donnie weaved team building activities in between trainings, making sure that campers maintained their high levels of energy and Before lunch, the campers were given a practical lesson by Amway?s nutrition specialists who taught them about balance diet, nutrition and food choice!

In the afternoon, campers played into ?quick-rotational? games where each city that scored one hoop would immediately move on to play against another city. After two hours of training and games, coaches arranged for the 18 cities to play against each other in a shooting game, where the first team that scored 7 hoops would advance to the next round. In the end it was the 5 Nanjing boys who defeated Hangzhou in the final round!
