Policies and Procedures
The Memphis Grizzlies are committed to working with surrounding communities to generate a positive impact throughout Memphis, Shelby County, and the Mid-South by supporting registered charities in the region. We feel that community involvement is not only the responsibility of the team, but also an opportunity to show our support for the great number of organizations which work tirelessly to help those in need.
Making a Request
Eligibility
Requests may be made for Grizzlies players, mascot, dance team, coaching staff, front-office staff, or Read to Achieve All-Star Reading Team members to attend an organization’s event. Please note that Grizzlies players’ schedules are extremely limited due to the demands of travel and practice.
- Requests for Grizzlies players, coaching staff, and basketball operations staff will be limited to the months of November through mid-April.
- Players and coaches are not available for speaking engagements or appearances on game days.
- All requests for appearances are limited to programs in the Memphis, Shelby County, and Mid-South area.
- Due to the overwhelming amount of requests and very limited availability, appearances are limited to one request per organization during the Memphis Grizzlies fiscal year (July 1-June 30).
Application Process
All requests must be submitted in writing on the letterhead of the requesting organization and state:
- The nature of the event
- The date of the event
- The location of event
- The activity or presentation with which the individual will be involved
- The nature and size of group attending
All requests must be submitted at least eight (8) weeks prior to the date of the event for which the appearance is needed.

Processing Your Request
- The Grizzlies Charitable Review Committee will make every effort to process your request at least three weeks prior to your event.
- We ask that telephone inquiries regarding status not be made due to the high volume of requests received.
- All decisions made by the Grizzlies Charitable Review Committee are final.
- We reserve the right to suggest an alternate speaker if the speaker you desire is not available or if we believe that another Grizzlies representative would be more appropriate for the event.
Schools and Basketball Programs
As part of our team mandate to support children’s charities, education, and the development of the sport of basketball, we do provide for them in the following ways:
- The Memphis Grizzlies support schools with educational programs. These programs offer incentives for participation, and have the opportunity
to enter random draws for Grizzlies merchandise, home game tickets, and player and All-Star Reading Team visits. For information on these
