The Grizzlies will tour the Mid-South for their Second Annual 2014 Regional Caravan tour, set to tip-off on Wednesday, Sept. 10 and continuing throughout September with four scheduled stops in Nashville (TN), St. Louis (MO), Little Rock (AR) and Jackson (TN). Grizzlies’ players and personalities will attend local attractions and events to get Grizz Nation excited about the return of Grizzlies basketball in the Bluff City. New this season, the Grizzlies plan an additional regional outreach, partnering with events in Oxford (MS), Tupelo (MS) and Jonesboro (AR) throughout October.
Grizzlies’ players Quincy Pondexter and Jon Leuer, team mascot Grizz, members of the Grizz Girls and the Claw Crew will all participate in the regional caravan and invite Grizzlies fans of all ages to join them in celebrating the upcoming 2014-15 season.
Fans attending these caravan stops will have the chance to get autographs, photo opportunities and participate in contests and games with the team’s players and personalities as the Grizzlies seek to capture the Grit & Grind spirit in the Mid-South region.
“Continuing to build our regional fan base is a key ingredient to the future successes of our franchise,” said Vice President of Marketing Communications and Broadcast John Pugliese. “As we enter our 14th season in the Bluff City, our fan base has grown far beyond the city limits of Memphis. Through these events and other programs we will continue to engage and grow Grizz Nation throughout the Mid-South.”
In addition, the Grizzlies have partnered with the Memphis Convention and Visitors Bureau to offer fans at each regional stop some amazing prizes. Fans will have the opportunity to win a “Weekend to Memphis Getaway Package” for two at each of these caravan stops by signing up for Grizzlies E-News. The package includes a two-night hotel stay at The Peabody Memphis, tickets to a Grizzlies game, Grizzlies swag and passes to local Memphis attractions.
