Conley makes major donation to Grizzlies Foundation

In that spirit, Mike Conley has made a million dollar donation to the Grizzlies Foundation. In recognition of Mike’s gift, Grizzlies’ Owner Robert Pera, together with his Memphis-based partners, will match Conley’s donation, bringing the total to two million dollars.

“Mike’s commitment to this community both on and off the court deserves our gratitude,” said Robert Pera, Grizzlies’ Owner. “Mike exemplifies what Grizzlies basketball is all about and I am honored to join with my Memphis-based partners in matching his generous gift.”

“The Grizzlies Foundation helps prepare young people for success in college, career and life while creating pathways out of poverty for our most vulnerable population, our children,” said Elliot Perry, Grizzlies Partner & Foundation Board Chair. “The money gifted by Mike, Robert and our Memphis-based owners will enable the Foundation to serve more young people, helping us ensure every student has a network of mentors to support their success. “

Thanks to the generous contributions from Mike, Robert and his Memphis-based partners, the Grizzlies Foundation will be able to grow its impact throughout Memphis, providing additional funding through:

  • Grants to non-profits that run quality mentor programs
  • Funding for Grizzlies Foundation mentor programs
  • Development of Innovative program solutions to close specific gaps in our educational system

“We need the commitment of the entire community to fix what is broken,” said Diane Terrell, Executive Director of the Grizzlies Foundation. “We have to stand together and we encourage Grizz Nation, Memphians and the entire nation to give what you can: time, wisdom, expertise, empathy - there is nothing more important than the work ahead of us.”
