Coach Dave Joerger to co-chair Second Annual “A Serving for Tennis”

Memphis Grizzlies Head Coach Dave Joerger and his wife, Kara Joerger, will both co-chair the Second Annual "A Serving for Tennis" event on Friday, Feb. 20 from 7-11 P.M. at the Pink Palace Museum (3050 Central Ave. Memphis 38111) benefitting Tennis Memphis and their National Junior Tennis and Learning programming (NJTL).

Early bird tickets are currently available for $85 through January 31. Starting February 1, tickets are $100.

This year’s event will feature a sensory, savory experience with almost 20 local Memphis restaurants serving up their signature dishes, select wines and beers. Amongst the mixing and mingling, guests will enjoy live music, raffle drawings and a chance to vote on their favorite chef. Silent and live auctions will be available, and inclusive of select sports memorabilia, local art and more to help raise funds and awareness for Tennis Memphis NJTL.

For more than a decade, Tennis Memphis has impacted the lives of Memphis’ youth through its NJTL Tennis Summer Camps and year-round youth development programming at municipal tennis centers and schools in the Memphis area. NJTL was envisioned and founded by tennis icon Arthur Ashe as a way to make tennis available to underserved youth.

Today, thousands of Memphis-area children who otherwise would never have set foot on a tennis court have benefitted from that vision. In addition to learning tennis, children are coached in academic excellence, life skills and leadership, and many of them ultimately attend college on tennis scholarships. Most importantly, they learn what it means to be good citizens.

Tickets for the event can be purchased at tennismemphis.org or at the following Tennis Memphis Centers: Bellevue, Eldon Roark, Leftwich or Wolbrecht. All proceeds benefit Tennis Memphis NJTL.
