Grizzlies announce Opening Night activities for home opener on Wednesday, Oct. 29 vs. the Minnesota Timberwolves

The Memphis Grizzlies will tip-off their 2014-15 campaign on Wednesday, Oct. 29 at 7 p.m. when they host the Minnesota Timberwolves at 7 p.m. for Opening Night, presented by First Tennessee Bank. In addition to the return of Grizzlies basketball in the Bluff City, fans will have ample opportunities to celebrate their home team well before the opening tip.

Fans are encouraged to arrive early and enjoy the Opening Night Party on the Plaza from 5-7 p.m. The festivities include face painting, balloon artists, music and the debut of the all-new adidas Grizzlies mobile merchandise experience – where fans can get their hands on the same, authentic adidas on-the-court gear that the Grizzlies players wear all season-long. Inside the arena, the concourses will be filled with other interactive activities, including sign making stations and the return of the popular Terrace Level DJ Dance Party.

In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the first 10,000 Opening Night attendees will be treated to pink Grizzlies Headbands, presented by First Tennessee. During player warm-ups, the team will wear limited edition Grizzlies / Breast Cancer Awareness shooting shirts and in-game, a special breast cancer survivor recognition will take place to commemorate the night and October’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

As the clock ticks closer to tip-off, fans will want to make their way to their seats for a memorable pregame performance during player introductions by Memphis’ own Yo Gotti. Halftime will feature a tribute to the Memphis music documentary, “Take Me To The River,” set to include a performance by the Hi Rhythm Section featuring Yo Gotti, Bobby Rush and Frayser Boy.

In-game performances include Garry Goin and the Memphis Grizzlies House Band, and additional entertainment will also be provided by Grizzlies’ fan-favorites – mascot Grizz, the Grizz Girls presented by Horseshoe Tunica, the Grizzlies Grannies and Grandpas and the high-flying Kings of the Court.

Due to security measures in place that require handwand searches, Grizzlies fans are encouraged to get to the game early to prevent any delays when entering the arena.
