Grizzlies earn big win over Rockets

The Memphis Grizzlies returned to winning ways as Marc Gasol made a jumper with 0.1 seconds left in the game for a 102-100 defeat over the Rockets in Houston on Wednesday.

It was a big night for the Grizzlies bigs. Marc Gasol finished with 21 points and Zach Randolph finished with 15 points.

With the game tied and 6.4 seconds left in regulation play, Gasol blocked a layup by James Harden to give the Grizzlies the ball.

The Grizzlies and Rockets ended the third quarter knotted at 79 points apiece. A 10-0 run by the Grizzlies to open the fourth quarter broke a tie and gave Memphis a 89-79 lead with 9 minutes left. All but two of the Grizzlies fourth-quarter points were scored in the paint.

Terrence Jones had 21 points and James Harden scored 18 for the Rockets.

The win extended Memphis' lead over second-place Houston in the Southwest Division by two and a half games and tied the season series at 2-2. Prior to tonight's win, Memphis lost 15 of their last 17 matchups in Houston.
