EmpowHER Initiative

EmpowHER is a three-part series of after school programming in partnership with Atlanta Public Schools. EmpowHER focuses on inspiring and guiding teenage girls to discover their authentic selves and develop the skills, confidence and courage needed to consistently make informed life choices from a place of self-knowledge, self-respect and strength.

The initiative will focus on self-esteem, healthy relationships, goal setting and decision-making. The initiative will culminate with a special prom dress selection event that aims to instill a sense of pride and confidence as the teens prepare for a much-anticipated occasion in their high school experience.

A Helping Hand

The Lady Hawks partner with Solomon's Temple, residential facility for homeless women and their children, to help in the eradication of homelessness by empowering women and their children to overcome life's challenges. The Lady Hawks support Solomon's Temple year-round by serving meals to the families during the holidays, facilitate sessions on personal wellness and healthy eating habits, provide clothing, bedding and cleaning supplies.

Women's History Month

In celebration of Women's History Month, throughout the month of March, the Lady Hawks host and honor community SHEroes who have made a significant difference in the lives of others across Metro Atlanta. Each recipient is honored during in-game presentations for their dedication, passion and commitment to the community through their time, actions, talents.

The Covenant House

Lady Hawks have partnered with Covenant House to provide women's empowerment and self-esteem group sessions focusing on career development and achieving long term success and self-sufficiency. The partnership also includes preparing and serving meals for the residents, and providing much needed baby items for new moms.

Dress for Success

The Lady Hawks partner with organizations supporting women including Dress for Success Atlanta, a nonprofit that aims to empower women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, career development tools, and professional attire to help women thrive in work and in life. Their year round support includes funding, professional development, and donating clothing and accessories to the Dress for Success Closet.
