HEAT Head Coach Pat Riley

On late offensive foul called against Caron Butler:
“It was a huge call. It showed great courage. I haven’t seen it but my argument was that Kenny Mauer had jumped out with a blocking call. Very visibly called (it). He was the one under the basket. He saw it and the other guy, he just pointed the other way.”

On the game:
"We made a very gallant effort to get back into it. Their zone really disrupted us, hurt us and stopped us from attacking. With Bradley there it is very hard to penetrate, all we were left with was jumpers."

On the performance of Rasual Butler: “He played really well for us. He keeps growing up. The consistency is what it’s all about. We see the possibilities in Caron (Butler) and Rasual. We see those possibilities before they become absolutely obvious. One day they’ll become obvious. We all see that potential there.”

On the performance of Mike James: “Mike was great. He had a very energetic, driving, attacking mentality. That’s the only thing we had going against the zone. He was kicking it to guys and guys were making the shots.”

On the HEAT’s desire to win games: “The guys showed their passion tonight, their passion to want to win. They’re not counting ping-pong balls.”

HEAT Guard Mike James

On the game:
“That call hurts, but that’s been the tale of the season for us. Now that this game is over we just need to get our minds ready for Denver tomorrow. We put up a big fight tonight. There is no such thing as moral victories. We felt we deserved to win. It’s tough when the call goes the other way, but that’s the way it is.”

HEAT Forward Caron Butler

On the game and his offensive foul in the fourth quarter:
“I saw that baseline official show block and I clapped my hands. The other guy overruled it from the top. I was disappointed. I was praying that he would change the call and that the baseline official would overrule him. It was just a tough break. We had a lot of chances to close the game. After that situation we still had a chance at the end. Malik (Allen) got a good look, but the ball went in and out. We got what we wanted, it just fell a little short.”

HEAT Forward/Center Brian Grant

On the game:
“You can’t ride on one call. We had opportunities to stop them. We have to look back to the third quarter, that’s where it was lost. You can’t really look at the end. If you’re given opportunities at the end, you want to seize them. You don’t want to put it in the hands of the referees. It was an aggressive game. We can beat them. We can beat any team in the league. We just need to get over the hump. We should have won.”

HEAT Forward Malik Allen

On the game:
“I got a good look at it. It rattled in and out. It just didn’t go down for me. It was supposed to be a screen down and they switched everything. That’s how I wound up with (Steve) Nash on me. I thought it was good. It felt good. Even when it rattled I thought I was going to get a good bounce.”

Maverick's Head Coach Don Nelson

On the game:
“Well, we knew it wasn’t going to be an easy game, but someway, somehow, we knew we needed to come away with the win tonight. We had to come away from this road game with a W (win) and we found a way to do that. We weren’t the smartest team down the stretch by fouling on two three-point shots, but we were able to execute enough to win the game. We were able to guard them for a possession or two down the stretch. They played a little smarter down the stretch on both defensive fouls. Raja (Bell) hasn’t been in the game down the stretch, at least in the pros, like he was tonight. We have to make sure he guards, but that he doesn’t get into position where he bangs the guy shooting a three-pointer. We feel fortunate to get out of here with a win, and we’re glad that we don’t play them anymore. Mission accomplished.”

On the play of Shawn Bradley:
“Well, there were a couple of reasons why we won tonight and Bradley was a big part of that. He was terrific both offensively and defensively. When he comes to play like that, we’re pretty good. When Mike (Finley) gets rebounds, he had 11 tonight, we win most of the time.”

Mavericks' Guard Steve Nash

On the game:
“This game was too close for comfort. Other than the New Jersey game, that’s the way it’s been this year. Hopefully, we’ll just continue to improve. I think we did a good job of running the clock down and getting good shots. We had good balance. Shawn (Bradley) came up with a couple good put backs. Mike (Finley) made a couple big shots, and Dirk (Nowitzki) and I worked well in the second half. All in all, it was a good team effort.”

On their run in the 3rd Quarter:
“If we didn’t go on that run, you never know what’s going to happen.”

Mavericks' Center Shawn Bradley

On the game:
“We just had a run and went up by ten. They are a team that never quits and we could not quit. We just had to keep applying pressure and playing our kind of ball. We needed to keep rebounding and pursuing the ball. These are the things that we needed to do to allow us to win the game. We made a couple of mistakes late, including the six free throws that they took at the end of the game. That is very dangerous to do, but hopefully we can learn from that.”

Mavericks' Forward/Center Dirk Nowitzki

On the game:
“We knew they were going to play hard for the rest of the season. We had them down 10 with a couple of minutes to go and they played well and they made it hard on us. You have to give them credit. We were a little flat down the stretch and we could not execute offensively. Down the stretch and on the road if you keep the game close you have a shot to win in. We got away with one tonight.”
