ADAM SIMON
DIRECTOR OF COLLEGE/INTERNATIONAL SCOUTING


Adam Simon begins his 13th season with the HEAT organization and his fourth in his present role as Director of College/International Scouting. Simon joined the HEAT in the 1995-96 season, serving as an intern in the Video Room under current Assistant Coach/Director of Scouting Erik Spoelstra. The following season he served as an intern in the Basketball Operations department, organizing information for the draft, a role in which he has handled since the 1996 Draft. From 1997-2001 he was the HEAT’s Basketball Operations Administrative Assistant before being promoted to Scouting Coordinator in 2001. Prior to the 2002-03 season he was elevated to the position of scout and during the 2003-04 season served in the capacity of Scout/Director of College Scouting.

His current responsibilities include assisting General Manager Randy Pfund and Vice President, Player Personnel Chet Kammerer in all aspects relating to scouting. Simon is responsible for scouting college, high school and international players. He is charged with creating and managing player data base files which are used to track players. Simon is also responsible for coordinating the NBA Draft for the HEAT and the team’s summer free agent camps.

In the summer of 2006, he was a coach for the NBA’s Basketball Without Borders camp in Johannesburg, South Africa, and also provided scouting reports for USA Basketball.

A Miami Beach native, Simon graduated from St. Thomas University. He is single and lives in Miami Beach.
