MIAMI, June 26 – There is no off-season for the Miami HEAT as they spend their summer getting back on top of the basketball world. The first step toward achieving that goal starts with the NBA Draft, and all of South Florida is invited to join the HEAT to experience the excitement and anticipation of the upcoming draft.

The HEAT will host its 2007 NBA Draft Day Party, sponsored by Miccosukee Resort and Gaming, on Thursday, June 28, at the AmericanAirlines Arena. The Miami HEAT Dancers, Burnie, Xtreme Team, DJ Irie and in-arena PA announcer Michael Baiamonte will host the night of entertainment and excitement as fans watch ESPN’s live coverage of the draft. In addition, fans will be able to watch the draft with HEAT players and the HEAT Broadcast Team – Eric Reid, Tony Fiorentino, Jason Jackson, Mike Inglis, John Crotty and José Pañeda. The event is free and open to the public, with doors opening at 6:00 p.m. The NBA Draft will be aired on ESPN at 7:00 p.m. Free parking will be available inside the P2 garage while supplies last.

The HEAT will look to add players with the 20th and 39th overall picks. Fans attending the 2007 NBA Draft will also get an exclusive glimpse into the HEAT Basketball Operations “War Room” prior to the HEAT making their selections.

Account representatives will be on hand for Select-A-Seat season ticket purchasing of “The 999”, a limited time season ticket offer featuring 999 previously unavailable season ticket locations. This is the first time in several years that these seats have been made available. Fans who become part of “The 999” will receive all the benefits of being a HEAT Season Ticket Holder including securing seats to the hottest ticket in town, as well as receiving exclusive gifts and participating in events with HEAT players. In addition, buyers who purchase during “The 999” campaign will receive an exclusive tour of the HEAT locker room and Gatorade Championship Alley and the opportunity to have a photo taken with the 2006 Larry O’Brien Championship Trophy. Both new and existing season ticket holders will receive a limited edition HEAT T-shirt, which can be presented during the Draft Party for a personal autograph by a HEAT Player.

The HEAT will also host a variety of other activities including a sale of player worn apparel, 30 percent off all Miami Hoops Gear merchandise and interactive stations featuring HEAT Dancer autographs, three-point shootouts and free throw shooting contests.
