HEAT’s Own Television Director Awarded Emmy

MIAMI, Dec. 8 - Recognizing HEAT Director of Television Game Broadcasts Ted Ballard for his excellence in executing the coordination of all audio and visual elements of HEAT game broadcasts for Sunshine Network, the Suncoast Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences awarded Ballard with an Emmy for Individual Achievement In Directing.

Thanks to the hard work of Ballard and the entire HEAT Production Team, viewers can tune in to HEAT games on Sunshine Newtork, CBS-4 and UPN 33 to catch one of the best regional sports broadcasts on television.

Ballard has held the position for six years and has already been awarded four Emmy’s prior to this one for his excellence in graphics, editing and animation. Before coming to the HEAT, Ballard served in several capacities at Turner Sports for six years, including director, associate director and graphics coordinator.

The HEAT’s Media Production Department was also nominated for an Emmy for their 2002 The Heat Experience Show in the category of Sports Show/Features.

The Suncoast Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences is a nonprofit organization dedicated to excellence in television and offers annual Emmy Awards known as “The Suncoast Regional Emmy Awards” to television markets in the entire State of Florida, most of the State of Louisiana, Mobile, Alabama, Thomasville, Georgia and Puerto Rico.
