HORNETS PLAYER COMMUNITY TICKETS
This season Hornets players Chris Paul, David West, Peja Stojakovic, Ryan Bowen, Morris Peterson and Julian Wright are providing over 6,500 New Orleans kids with the opportunity to attend a Hornets home game.
Each season Hornets players purchase tickets through the Hornets Player Community Tickets program to benefit non-profit organizations that work with children. During the 2007-2008 season, 150 kids are treated with tickets to every home game and a one-of-a-kind t-shirt with the logo of his/her player section.
Non-profit organizations interested in participating should send an email to
communitytickets@hornets.com. Please include the name of your organization, a contact name and phone number, a tax exempt number and a brief description of your group.
OUTSTANDING READERS
Literacy is the Hornets primary outreach initiative and we look for opportunities to encourage students to read. This season the Hornets would like to reward all outstanding readers with an opportunity to attend and be recognized at a Hornets game and have their picture taken with a player prior to the start of a game. If you would like to nominate a student in 1st – 12th grade for their outstanding achievement in reading, please contact Devyn Smith at
Devyn.Vanduyne@hornets.com.
WISH REQUESTS
Throughout the season, the Hornets support a variety of organizations that grant wishes for terminally and chronically ill children from around the country. For more information, contact Devyn Smith at
Devyn.Vanduyne@hornets.com.
SUSAN G. KOMEN FOR THE CURE
For the past seven years, the Hornets have worked with Susan G. Komen for the Cure to raise breast health awareness and money for research into finding a cure for breast cancer. Each season the Hornets host a Pack the Place in Pink Night to honor breast cancer survivors, breast health heroes and make a donation to Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
SUMMER HOOPS CLINICS
This summer, the Hornets reached out to more than 1,800 children through free basketball skills clinics held across the Gulf South region. Children received three hours of instruction and interaction with Hornets players Hilton Armstrong and Cedric Simmons.

LOUISIANA 4-H
Over the past four years the Hornets have developed a strong and mutually beneficial partnership with Louisiana 4-H. Through this partnership, the Hornets host a 4-H night at a home game for more than 2,000 children from 4-H clubs across the state of Louisiana, allowing them to recognize the top members in each parish and giving them opportunities to showcase their members. In addition to participating in game night elements, the night serves as a fundraiser for each parish and the state organization as a whole.
