By Scierra Bratton

SUSAN G. KOMEN CHARLOTTE
Susan G. Komen Charlotte partnered with the Charlotte Hornets at its Community Corner on Wednesday, March 25 during the Brooklyn Nets game.  Susan G. Komen Charlotte focuses on breast health education screenings, diagnostics and treatment support services for uninsured and underinsured men and women in a 13-county service area.  Each year, Komen Charlotte invests 75 percent of its net revenue to local community health programs and 25 percent to breast cancer research.  Since 1997, more than $13 million has been awarded in local community health grants and nearly $5 million in research.  At the Community Corner, Komen Charlotte promoted breast health and local resources by giving out Komen Charlotte printed materials.  Volunteers shared information on Komen Charlotte’s upcoming Research Luncheon event, provided opportunities to make financial donations and sold Komen Charlotte t-shirts.  To learn more about Komen Charlotte, visit https://komencharlotte.org/.

24 HOURS OF BOOTY
24 Hours of Booty will partner with the Charlotte Hornets at its Community Corner tomorrow night during the Atlanta Hawks game.  24 Hours of Booty is a community committed to putting cancer in its place.  The 24-hour cycling event raises funds for cancer survivorship and navigation programs at the Levine Cancer Institute and The LIVESTRONG Foundation.  The event is held on a traffic free loop and brings together cyclists of all abilities. The only requirement is a bicycle (or unicycle) and a passion for fighting cancer.  When participants ride, donate or volunteer at 24 Hours of Booty, they get so much more than miles on their bike.  Hornets fans should stop by the Community Corner to learn how to get more involved in the 24 Hours of Booty cycling event by riding, volunteering or donating.  For more information, contact Janet Ervin at janet@24hoursofbooty.com.
