September 25, 2014 – TheCharlotte Hornets will hold their 2014 training camp from Tuesday, September 30 through Friday, October 3 at UNC Asheville’s Sherrill Center/Kimmel Arena. For the second consecutive season, Charlotte’s training camp is presented by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina. The Hornets training camp will include six team practices and will feature a full-team basketball clinic for children from the Boys and Girls Club of Buncombe County.
The Hornets will hold two practices on Tuesday, September 30 and Wednesday, October 1 and one practice on Thursday, October 2 and Friday, October 3. Hornets players and coaches will be available for interviews following the first practice of the day and media should arrive by 12:00 p.m. Please note that Hornets practices are closed to the media and not open to the public.
Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina, along with the entire Hornets team, will host a basketball clinic for 75 children ages 6-15 on Thursday, October 2 from 4:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. With an emphasis on exercise and fundamentals, the children from the Boys and Girls Club of Buncombe County will go through a series of fitness and basketball activities that will promote overall health and fitness. This clinic is closed to the public. Media will be allowed to cover the event with more details regarding the clinic to be released next week.
