Hornets.com caught up with Chicago guard Larry Hughes, who was obtained by the Bulls in a Feb. 21 trade-deadline deal with Cleveland:
Hornets.com: What’s been the toughest adjustment so far since joining the Bulls?
Hughes: Winning, that makes the adjustment easier. We’ve been in a lot of games, but just haven’t been able to finish games. That’s probably been the toughest thing, but as a team we just have to keep going out there and give our best effort for 48 minutes.
Hornets.com: A few Chicago writers were critical of the comments that you recently made about rather having fun versus winning, can you touch on that and clear the air?
Hughes: That’s old news, a guy went on Sportscenter and said the same thing and no one said anything. It’s really irrelevant. I want to help this team win games and finish the season strong.
Hornets.com: You’ve played with some great players in your career, where would you rank LeBron James?
Hughes: You’re right… I have played with some great players and on some good teams. Playing with LeBron has to rank up there towards the top…our team went the furthest and it was a great experience.
Hornets.com: What are your thoughts on the Hornets?
Hughes: Well they played well; they’ve got a nice team. They played us really tough down the stretch, built up momentum and made some big shots to beat us.
Hornets.com: What are your thoughts on Hornets point guard Chris Paul?
Hughes: He’s very talented. He’s a great floor general who makes guys around him better. Chris does so many things well, which is one of the primary reasons that the Hornets have played as well as they have this season.
