dollar to the American Red Cross
for each fan that attended Thursday
night's game. Attendance reached 15,000 for the Stingers' final home
game, raising $15,000 for the cause.
Following the game, Stingers players auctioned off their jerseys for the relief effort, raising nearly $5,000. In addition, several staff members volunteered to support the KUTV telethon.
The NBA, its players and teams have begun mobilizing their own relief efforts. The players association announced today its goal to raise $1 million.
Jazz Rookie Deron Williams has stepped up to the plate by donating $10,000 to the American Red Cross.
