SACRAMENTO, CA - May 11, 2008 --- Margie Parilo of Sacramento received the best Mother’s Day gift she could hope for by making history today as the winner of the Kings LUCKIEST Season Ticket Holder contest. As the Kings LUCKIEST Season Ticket Holder, Parilo will be the first-ever Season Ticket Holder to serve as the team’s official representative at the NBA Draft Lottery, which takes place Tuesday, May 20, at NBA Entertainment studios in Secaucus, N.J.
“I'm thrilled, absolutely, totally thrilled,” Parilo said. “It's exciting. What a great Mother’s Day present!”
A 23-year Kings Season Ticket Holder, Parilo has been a CPA for nearly 30 years and also works as a professor at Cosumnes River College.
Parilo was selected by a random drawing among six finalists who advanced via a fan vote on Kings.com. The selection took place at the “Kings LUCKIEST Season Ticket Holder Selection Show” at Natomas restaurant Center Court, and it was broadcast live on News10.
The other five finalists were: Rob Hessing (Roseville), Kathy Johnson (Auburn), Paul Page (Sacramento), Paul Shank (Yuba City) and Clint Walker (Yuba City).
Quincy Douby scored a game-high 36 points and rookie Jason Thompson contributed 20 points to lead the Kings to a 94-91 win over the Warriors at the NBA Summer League on Friday.
