•Currently in his sixth season in New York, Andy joined Knicks in September 2009 and promoted to director, conditioning & fitness after 2012-13 season...Areas of emphasis include proactive injury prevention specialization, movement screening/optimization, manual therapy and warmup/recovery sessions...Oversees Knicks’ strength and conditioning and player prevention/recovery programs...Integrates personalized programs with team programs in order for players to perform at their best...Oversees players assessments and measurements, and overall status throughout the season.

•Brought decade-long resume in athletic training field to New York, with 10 years in soccer’s Premier League in his native Great Britain...Prior to joining Knicks, served for one season as injury prevention specialist for Manchester City...Enjoyed two tenures (seven total years) with Bolton Wanderers, including one season as head of First Team physiotherapy...Also logged a season-and-a-half as head of sports medicine for Southampton Football Club.

•Earned bachelor’s honors degree in physiotherapy from Salford University in 1998, and master’s degree in sports science and sports injury from Manchester Metropolitan University in 2007...Licensed physical therapist in New York State...Sanctioned by NSCA as strength and conditioning specialist...Pilates Foundation instructor.

•Born in Birmingham, raised in Bedfordshire, a suburb north of London...Played soccer professionally in Britain for three years...Moved to U.S. upon hiring by Knicks in 2009...Andy and wife Alyssa are proud parents of daughter Ellery (2) and newborn son Lenox...The Barr family lives in Old Greenwich, CT.
