NYK 103, TOR 98: Knicks Hang in for 2nd Straight Victory

How it Happened

With both teams arriving in New York late after playing on Friday night, fatigue might have been a factor but could not be an excuse. The Knicks, fresh off a comeback win in double overtime, had an opportunity to continue building chemistry against a struggling Raptors team that had lost four straight.

For the second straight night, New York pulled together as a team and held on for the win. Once again, it was Langston Galloway nailing the clutch 3 in the final seconds to help seal a Knicks win.

With Toronto down three and 13 seconds left, Derek Fisher drew up a play for Alexey Shved to drive; with Galloway spotted up on the right wing, Shved made the pass and Galloway's rainbow shot swished through the net as the Garden crowd went nuts.

Tim Hardaway Jr. continued his recent trend of strong starts, scoring 10 points in the 1st quarter en route to 22 for the game. Andrea Bargnani followed up his 25-point, 12-rebound showing Friday night in Detroit with 19 more tonight. Shved made his presence felt in 20 minutes of play, but especially in the 4th quarter, where he scored 7 of his 15 points.

Knick of the Night

Hardaway gets the honor for his early scoring punch that helped lift the Knicks to a 22-15 lead after the first quarter, and his all-around effort that enabled his team to hang on as Toronto mounted its run. Making his third straight start, the second-year wing added 7 rebounds to his line in one of his most balanced performances this year.

Game Notes

An MRI revealed a strained Achilles for Jose Calderon, who did not dress. All-Star point guard Kyle Lowry (rest) did not dress for the Raptors.
