MISSION STATEMENT
The Los Angeles Lakers Youth Foundation’s goal is to assist nonprofit community organizations based on need. With the Foundation’s focus on the use of sports to promote education, teamwork and self-esteem among Los Angeles area youth, our fundraising directly supports these initiatives by providing financial assistance to children and local youth programs.

GRANT APPLICATION PROCEDURES
Organizations must send in a written request to be reviewed. Reviews are done quarterly with the following deadlines: March 15, June 15, Sept. 15 and Dec. 15. An organization may submit only one application in a calendar year. The Board then decides which group(s) will then receive funding or a donation.

We encourage you to send in your request. Please include any important information, pictures, etc that might be helpful in making our decision. You must also include a non-profit tax ID number as well.

As committed as the Lakers organization and its players are to winning NBA championships, we are equally dedicated to giving back and being champions off the court in the Los Angeles community. The Los Angeles Lakers Youth Foundation held their annual charity golf tournament at The Riviera Country Club on March 31st. 17th Annual Los Angeles Lakers Tip-Off Golf Tournament
Benefiting the Los Angeles Lakers Youth Foundation, this year’s Golf Tournament was held at Southern Highlands Golf Club in Las Vegas on October 16th. This year the tournament was coupled with the 1st Annual Celebrity Poker Tournament hosted by Dr. Jerry Buss. Tournament sponsors and celebrities sat down with Dr. Buss and played until Willie Garson, from the series Sex and the City was declared the winner. Garson played for the Lakers Youth Foundation and raised over $30,000! Garson’s winnings, combined with the golf tournament entry fees and silent/live auction monies, raised over $100,000 for the Los Angeles Lakers Youth Foundation.
