Honorable Mentions: Tony Parker, France – Unlike past years when he was a relentless scorer in the paint, these days he avoids mistakes (just 1.8 turnovers), plays within the flow of the offense and makes open perimeter shots (41.5 percent from 3-point range) Marcin Gortat, Poland – Nearly averaged a double-double (13.5 points, 9.9 rebounds) and had some very impressive stretches during season Jonas Valanciunas, Lithuania – Always good at using his big body and strength. Averaged career highs in scoring and rebounding Goran Dragic, Slovenia – Averaged 17.3 points and 6.7 assists after All-Star break (12.2, 5.3 before). Still a below average 3-point shooter, however (31 percent) Pau Gasol, Spain – Not nearly as crafty and versatile as he once was but still a good pick-and-pop scorer and rebounder Marc Gasol, Spain – A season-ending foot injury in early Feb. prevented anything other than an honorable mention for the typically consistent big man Nikola Mirotic, Spain/Montenegro – Didn’t make nearly the progress some anticipated but he did raise his 3-point percentage by more than seven percent from last season Dennis Schroder, Germany – Perhaps the best backup point guard in league (Shaun Livingston may have exception to that) because of his creativity and quickness Click through slideshow for players ranked in the Top 8
