Orlando Magic players Dwight Howard and J.J. Redick joined 15 other NBA stars in Team USA's minicamp this past weekend in Las Vegas.

After two days of practice, the 17 players were split into a Team USA Blue and Team USA White and took part in the State Farm Challenge, a scrimmage at the Thomas & Mack Center at UNLV.

Howard had a very nice game for the White squad, going 9-for-9 from the field to finish with 21 points in 22 minutes of play. He also went 3-for-3 from the free throw line and pulled down nine rebounds.

Redick, who didn't participate with Team USA last summer at the FIBA World Championships due to a sore back, made his USA debut for the Blue team on Sunday and scored two points on 1-of-4 shootings in 10 minutes of action. He was also credited with one assist.

Howard and Redick will again join USA Basketball in mid August as the team will prepare for the FIBA Americas tournament, a regional qualifier for the 2008 Olympic Games. The team will practice together for a week before the squad is trimmed down to 12 players before the tournament begins on August 22.

The United States is paired with Brazil, Canada, the US Virgin Islands and Venezuela in Group B. Group A consists of Argentina, Mexico, Panama, Puerto Rico and Urugray.
