DAVID STEELE
Television Play-By-Play
David Steele returns for his 18th season of Orlando Magic basketball, and his ninth as the play-by-play announcer for the team’s television broadcasts. He was named television play-by-play voice for the Orlando Magic in March of 1998 after handling radio play-by-play duties for the team’s first nine seasons.
Along with handling television play-by-play duties for all Magic games on Sun Sports and FSN Florida, Steele will also be involved with ancillary television and radio programming. In addition to his Magic responsibilities, Steele handles play-by-play for Sun Sports telecasts of University of Florida football, as well as play-by-play for SEC football and basketball for JP Sports.
The former voice of the University of Florida, Steele arrived in Orlando in 1989 after serving as network coordinator and football/basketball play-by-play announcer for the Gators for seven seasons.
A native of Jacksonville, Fla., Steele’s professional broadcasting career began in 1975, as sports director at WJHG-TV in Panama City, Fla. He also served as sports director at WLOS-TV in Asheville, NC, and was the football/basketball play-by-play announcer at Western Carolina University.
One of Florida's premier sportscasters, Steele has been named “Sportscaster of the Year” in both Florida and North Carolina. He is also a past president of the Florida Sportscasters Association.
Steele and his wife, Sally, reside in Orlando, Florida. They have three children, Luke, Emily, and Betsy.
MATT GUOKAS
Television Color Analyst
Matt Guokas returns for his third season as Orlando’s television color analyst. He joins David Steele on both the Sun Sports and FSN Florida TV broadcasts.
Guokas spent the previous seven seasons as an analyst for Fox Sports Net’s coverage of the Cleveland Cavaliers. He also served as analyst for CBS’s coverage of NCAA Basketball. For eight seasons, Guokas was an analyst for NBC’s coverage of the NBA.
No stranger to The City Beautiful, Guokas was the head coach of the Magic from their inaugural season in 1989-90 through the 1992-93 campaign. He compiled a 111-217 (.338) record with Orlando and led them to their first-ever .500 season in 1992-93 (41-41). Guokas also served as head coach of the Philadelphia 76ers from 1985-88. In six-plus seasons as a head coach, Guokas had a 230-305 record (.430). He was also an assistant coach in Philadelphia under Billy Cunningham for three-and-a-half seasons, helping the Sixers reach the NBA Finals twice and capture the NBA Championship in 1982-83.
Born and raised in Philadelphia, Guokas played for Saint Joseph’s University and was the 76ers’ first round draft choice in 1966. He helped Philadelphia win the 1967 NBA title and spent three more seasons with the club before moving around the NBA. During his ten-year career, Guokas also played with Chicago, Cincinnati, Kansas City, Houston and Buffalo.
Guokas has an extensive broadcasting background. In 1977, he began a four-year stint working with the 76ers in both radio and television. His father, Matt Sr., was a play-by-play announcer for the Philadelphia Warriors in the 1950’s, following his playing career. Guokas and his wife, Barbara, have four children.

DENNIS NEUMANN
Radio Play-By-Play
Dennis Neumann enters his 16th season as a member of the Orlando Magic broadcasting team and eighth as the team’s radio play-by-play voice. In addition to his radio play-by-play duties for the Magic Radio Network, Neumann will once again host the Magic Radio Head Coach’s Show, this season with new Magic Head Coach Stan Van Gundy.
Neumann brings 22 years in the radio industry and a wide-ranging wealth of experience to the radio play-by-play post. Prior to being named the club’s radio play-by-play announcer in April of 1998,
Neumann supervised the day-to-day activities of the RDV Sports broadcasting department, overseeing the production of all Magic television and radio programming. He has served as the studio host for game broadcasts on the Magic Radio Network, while also working as host of the team’s pre-game shows, post-game radio call-in shows, and weekly ancillary programming.
Prior to joining the Magic, Neumann was the sports director for the USA Radio Network in Dallas, Tex., and the Florida Radio Network in Orlando, Fla. A native of Portland, Ore., he was an Evans Scholar at the University of Oregon and graduated in 1981.
Neumann and his wife, Debbie, reside in Orlando, Florida. They have three children, Brad, Lisa and Stephanie.
RICHIE ADUBATO
Radio Color Analyst - Home Games
Adubato joins the Magic in a full-time capacity this season after spending the past two seasons sharing the duties of home radio analyst for the Magic and head Coach of the Washington Mystics. In his two seasons in Washington, he compiled an overall record of 34-34 and led the Mystics to the playoffs in 2006. Prior to that, he served as head coach of the New York Liberty for five seasons, guiding them to a 100-79 record (.559), three straight playoff berths and back-to-back Eastern Conference Championships in 1999 and 2000. Adubato was also head coach for the Eastern Conference All-Stars in the 2000 and 2001 WNBA All-Star Games.
Prior to coaching in the WNBA, Adubato spent 19 years in the NBA, including three seasons with the Magic (assistant coach from 1994-97, interim head coach 1996-97). He served as head coach for the Detroit Pistons (1979-80), Dallas Mavericks (1989-90 to 1992-93) and Orlando, leading his teams to the NBA Playoffs twice. He also served as an assistant coach for New York, Detroit, Dallas, Cleveland and Orlando.
Adubato spent 18 years as a high school and college coach in New Jersey, compiling an overall record if 290-85 (.773).
Adubato and his wife, Carol, reside in Lake Mary, Florida. They have three children, Beth, Scott and Adam.
