Mid to Late First Round.

A long, athletic jump shooter who can play both the 3 and 4… Excellent midrange game… Has improved his 3-point shooting -- though it's still streaky… Has the ability to put the ball on the floor and take his man to the basket… Explosive leaper… Has turned into a leader on his team… Solid rebounder.

“The thing that’s obvious about him is he can shoot the ball, and he can shoot it with range. He’s about 6’9, very very talented, I think he’s going to be somebody that has an NBA skill right away, you put him in the game he’s going to be able to score.”
—Nets General Manager Kiki Vandeweghe

“A guy that has good size for position. He has a good stroke and the mechanics on his jump shot are very good. We saw some of a post up game from him today. He has a lot of tools in place if he is committed, dedicated and matures on a normal course to be a player in the league.”
-- Nets Director of Scouting Gregg Polinsky

On today’s workout
“It went well, it was definitely fun, I think this was probably one of my hardest workouts. A lot of full court, one on one, three on three, constant running. You really have to come in here and be prepared to play defense. It was a good workout overall, Coach Frank and the other coaches are hard nosed coaches, they don’t take anything. It was tough.”

On his strengths that he tries to show in workouts
“I just try to show my toughness. The knock on me is I don’t play hard and I’m not a tough player. The last couple workouts I’ve been coming out defending well, playing hard, being aggressive, getting to the bucket and showing my jump shot at the same time. I try to show the total package. It’s an interview, your interview for yourself.”

On where people are telling him he will go in the draft
“There’s been talk out there. I was with Larry Brown in Charlotte on Monday and he spoke very highly of me. He didn’t think I’d be around when they drafted. To hear that from him, you know, a Hall of Fame, hard nosed coach, that was definitely good. I’m just going to continue to work and not settle, and definitely try and get in the top 10.”

On how he sees himself fitting in with the Nets
“You know you got Richard Jefferson, Vince Carter here, newly acquired Devin Harris. Just being able to learn from the vets, Jefferson and Vince Carter, both playing my position, and being able to get out on the floor with Devin Harris, he’s a fast little guy. I like to get out on the break catch a couple hoops, get a couple dunks and easy lay ups. I think I can do that with Devin Harris and the Nets as a whole. Definitely a good organization to be at. And for me it’s not too far away from home, being from Baltimore.”

As a freshman in 2007-08 earned Second Team All-Big East honors and was named to the league’s All-Rookie Team… Earned Big East Rookie of the Week honors five times… Team leader in scoring (17.7 ppg, ranked fourth in the Big East)… Was ranked second in rebounding (7.2 rpg)… Placed fifth in the conference in blocked shots (1.6 bpg)… Ranks second in Syracuse history with 620 points as a freshman, only behind Carmelo Anthony… Set a freshman record for three-point field goals made (90). Scored 20 or more points 14 times… Averaged 4.3 points and 1.5 rebounds on the silver medal-winning United States team at the 2007 FIBA World Championship for Men in Novi Sad, Serbia.

“Donte Greene is obviously a very talented basketball player. Freshman, sophomore, junior, senior, whatever, he’s a talented basketball player. He can go outside and knock the shot down and put the ball on the floor. He’s going to be a good player for them. He already is; he’s their leading scorer.”-- Washington Coach Lorenzo Romar
