Jordan or LeBron? Jeff Hornacek Weighs In

Michael Jordan or LeBron James?

It’s a debate that seems like everyone has weighed in on. You can now add Suns Head Coach Jeff Hornacek name to the list.

As a guest on with Arizona Sports 98.7 FM’s Burns and Gambo Wednesday, Hornacek shared his view on the debate that has been all the rage for years. His answer wasn’t what you might expect from a guy who lost back-to-back NBA titles to Jordan during his playing days.

“I think it’s close,” Hornacek explained to the hosts. “At this point I’d still go with Michael. This Finals is going to add or subtract to the debate. A lot of people are thinking Golden State is going to win this series relatively easy. Playing against Michael, this is where he would have gone into the stratosphere of:. ‘OK, Curry got MVP. We’ll see about that in this series’

“If LeBron just goes out there and plays his game and they don’t win it, then I’d say ‘nah, it’s definitely Jordan.’ If he comes out there and goes to another level of determination and carries them to a championship then you have to say he’s right there with him.”

Congrats, Coach. You’re a bigger man than a lot of us who still haven’t forgiven Jordan for 1993 and might have been a little more petty with our answer.
