Brandon Knight Personifies Thanksgiving Spirit

Brandon Knight is having a career season – both on and off the floor.

During the month of November, Knight has set (then surpassed) his career-high in scoring, set a career-high in assists, recorded his first career triple-double and his first two career 30-point/10-rebound games.

During that stretch, Knight is averaging 25.0 points (46.2 FG%, 48.8 3FG%, 85.0 FT%), 6.3 assists, 4.7 rebounds and 1.6 steals per game.

But even though his production on the floor has been remarkable, his work in the community is infinitely more important.

In the spirit of giving, Knight and his family delivered Thanksgiving meals to 50 families from local non-profit, New Pathways for Youth, on Tuesday, November 24. The Knight family distributed the meals for several hours in the evening before hand-delivering additional meals directly to the homes of families later that night.

“It’s always important to give back to the community,” Knight said. “Especially during this time of year. Just to see them with a smile on their face and to be able to help them out was an honor.”

Each family received a Fry’s Food Stores’ “Thanksgiving in a Box,” courtesy of Knight, which includes turkey, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, pie and all the fixings.

“The New Pathways for Youth Board of Directors and staff are so very thankful to Brandon Knight for making the holidays brighter,” President/CEO of New Pathways for Youth, Christy McClendon, said. “His donation of 50 Thanksgiving meals to our families, all of which are living in poverty, made a significant impact in our community. His whole family joined him from Florida to help package the meals and share their love with our youth. Brandon is an asset for the Suns and our community—he is a truly compassionate leader on and off the court!”
