Grantland: Suns 9th-Most Entertaining Team

Props to the Grantland tag-team of Bill Simmons and Zach Lowe for owning up to their 2013, last-place ranking of the Suns in entertainment value.

"That's one of our biggest mistakes in Grantland history," Lowe wrote on the website's annual League Pass rankings.

Lessons appeared to have been learned after the Suns' 48-win season. This team can play -- and win -- in a hectic, fast-paced style that is easy on the eyes and anything but on opponents.

That's part of the reason why Simmons and Lowe tabbed Phoenix as ninth-best in League Pass value: a measure that takes all the television aspects of a team (style of play, announcing team, court design, ongoing storylines, etc.) into account.

One season of the Hornacek Highway was enough to convince Simmons that Suns basketball is must-watch material.

"I love that Jeff Hornacek basically came out and said (I’m paraphrasing), If you thought we played with a speedy pace last year, that was nothing — just wait until you see us this season. I get the feeling that the dual point guard lineup IS their offense. Dragic, Bledsoe, Isaiah Thomas, even Tyler Ennis … I could see two or three of them playing for 90 percent of these games. Three point guards at once?!?!?!? I mean, why not? It’s never going to be an elite defensive team, so their offense becomes their defense — that pace they create is going to suck opponents into their breakneck vortex."

We love it too, Bill.
