Q. Ashley, what is something about dancers that most people don't realize? -Clark
A. Clark, something about dancers that most people don't realize is the level of athletic ability we hold. We work very hard outside of perfomances to increase our strength, endurance, and flexibility. Our practices consist of major workouts including both strength training and endurance. It takes a lot of energy to perform and do appearances throughout a game, so we have to be physically prepared and well conditioned.

Q. Hi Jessica, First i just want to say congratulations on making the team, I went to high school with you and you were a great dancer then. Its great that your continuing what you love. What is it like coming from a small town like Austin making a dance team for the best basketball team out there?-Amber, Austin, MN
A. Good to hear from you Amber! Thanks for the question. It definitely was exciting to make an NBA dance team coming from a small town and being able to continue my love of dance. The support has been great and I am very thankful to have the opportunity to dance for a professional team. All 15 of us are from all over so it's been a lot of fun learning about each other's backgrounds and experiencing everyone's different dance styles. Everyone brings something unique to the team, whether its their Green Bay Packer pride, Southern accent, Italian cuisine, or big city fashion. In the end we all share the love of dance, which is the same no matter where your from. :)

Q. Shalisha, is it difficult for you and the other dancers to do your routines in high heeled boots? Because it looks like they would be hard to walk in, let alone dance in. But hey, they look great. So keep up the good work.-Carl
A. Carl, truthfully speaking, we all had to get used to dancing and walking in the high heels. They are not actually made for the type of performing we do and everyone on the team had to "break them in" in their own way. Even though we are more than halfway done with the season, the shoes still surprise us at times and we find ourselves having to modify certain dance moves. It can be difficult to perform at 110% when the shoes are high and won't allow the stability we have when wearing tennis shoes. Secretly we love them because a certain sassiness evolves when we put them on.

Q. Ashley, I am curious if you have any time for a job or family being a cheerleader? Also, what is all required of you? -Rachel
A. A little bit...I work full time, so it is possible to have a job outside of dancing, however, between work, practice, games and keeping up with beauty maintenance, I don't have all that much free time. The couple hours I have left during the week and weekends, I spend with my boyfriend, friends and family. It's difficult to make time for everyone, but you just have to prioritize. It is definitley a major time committment, however it's worth it if you have a passion to dance and be a part of an amazing team of talented women! We practice twice a week for 3 hours each and on the court before games. There are appearances almost every week...anywhere from 1-5 per week, some are not mandatory for everyone though. We have about 2-3 games per week, for a total of 42 per season. As a professional dancer, you are required to succeed in all of the things I mentioned above and serve as a positive attribution to the team and community. Hope I answered all your questions! Thanks!

Q. Shalisha, have you ever designed anything that Target has put on their shelves? Do you design your own clothes? And last, did you have any idea how cold it got up here? -Huck
