Karl-Anthony Towns Is Getting Us Excited For Basketball In July

The middle of the summer is tough for an NBA fan.

Summer League is over. You’re stuck watching baseball and in April it’s cool because baseball is back! Then you realize your team is 10 games out of first place and there are still like three more months of this.

GIVE US THE NBA SEASON DEAR ZEUS PLEASE!

Karl-Anthony Towns is trying to get us there.

He caught up with Associated Press writer Jon Krawczynski on Wednesday and… Oh. My. Goodness.

Some people thought of Minnesota as a flyover state when it came to basketball. And that’s fair considering how things went after the team traded Kevin Garnett. The Damien Wilkins era wasn't great.

But things are changing and a lot of that has to do with Towns. Instead of Minnesota being a pitstop for players, this young core the Wolves have – Towns, Andrew Wiggins, Zach LaVine, Ricky Rubio, Gorgui Dieng, Kris Dunn, etc. – want to stay in Minnesota.

With the addition of Tom Thibodeau, playoffs are on the horizon for the Wolves. The team has the strongest young core in the league.

Hop on the bandwagon while you can. Only one carry-on bag, please. Things are getting tight.
