BOSTON, MA&nbsp;– The NBA announced today that Boston Celtics President of Basketball Operations Brad Stevens&nbsp;has been named the 2023-24 NBA Basketball Executive of the Year. Stevens is the third recipient in franchise history to win the yearly award, joining Danny Ainge (2007-08) and Red Auerbach (1979-80).“I am so thankful to work for the Celtics,” said Stevens. “Our ownership group has given us the support and resources to build this team. The players, coaches, front office, and support staff are amazing - superstars in their jobs across the board. Since Stevens joined the front office, the Celtics have reached the NBA Finals, the Eastern Conference Finals, and clinched the No.1 overall seed for the 2024 Playoff run. Boston has amassed the most wins in the NBA with a 172-74 regular season record for a 69.9 winning percentage over the last three years.The Celtics concluded the 2023-24 regular season with a league-best 64-18 overall record, marking the fourth-most wins in franchise history and earning their NBA-record 14th 60-win season. Boston went 37-4 at home, marking the third-most wins on the parquet in a single season in franchise history, and its 90.2 win percentage ranked 12th in the NBA since the 1990-91 season.The 2023-24 Celtics proved one of the most prolific offensive teams the league has seen, boasting the best offensive rating (122.2) in NBA history and knocking down the second-most three-pointers in a single season with 1,351 threes. The Celtics led the league in three-pointers per game (16.5), blocks per game (6.6), and plus/minus (+11.3), and ranked second in three-point percentage (38.8%), rebounds per game (46.3), and points per game (120.6).

BOSTON – The Boston Celtics have agreed to a contract extension with guard Jrue Holiday. Per team policy, terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

“In addition to being one of the more accomplished players in the league, Jrue is an elite teammate and competitor. He is simply a person who raises everyone’s level around him. He combines an unselfishness to do whatever is best for the team with an edge to take on any challenge at any time. We are grateful that Jrue is a Celitc,” said Brad Stevens, Celtics President of Basketball Operations.

Holiday has appeared in 68 games (all starts) with the Celtics this season and is averaging 12.5 points, a career-high 5.4 rebounds, and 4.9 assists in 32.9 minutes per game. Holiday is shooting a career-high 43.1 percent from beyond the arc, which ranks sixth in the NBA, and he has knocked down the second-most three-pointers in a single season in his career (137). The Chatsworth, California native also ranks seventh in the NBA in total plus/minus (+453) and ninth in blocks among league guards (51).

On February 27, Holiday became only the seventh active NBA guard with at least 4,000 career rebounds. The 15-year veteran is one of only 20 NBA players in history to reach at least 15,500 points, 4,000 rebounds, 1,400 steals and 500 blocks. Holiday surpassed 15,000 career points on November 13 versus New York when he finished with 14 points while going 5-for-9 from the floor and 3-for-5 from three-point range.

In 974 career games (893 starts), Holiday owns career averages of 16.1 points, 4.2 rebounds, 6.4 assists, and 1.4 steals in 33.1 minutes per game, while shooting 46.3 percent from the field and 37.1 percent from the three-point line.

Holiday is a three-time Twyman-Stokes Teammate of the Year Award recipient and was honored with the 2020-21 NBA Sportsmanship award. Last season, Holiday made his second NBA All-Star appearance and earned his third consecutive and fifth career NBA All-Defensive team selection.

Boston Celtics Extend Holiday

BOSTON – The Boston Celtics today announced that they have acquired forward/center Xavier Tillman from the Memphis Grizzlies in exchange for forward Lamar Stevens and two future second-round draft picks.

Tillman (6-8, 245) has appeared in 34 games (13 starts) with the Grizzlies this season and is averaging 6.0 points, 4.6 rebounds, and a career-high 1.7 assists while shooting 40.8 percent from the field. The four-year big is also averaging career highs of 1.2 steals and 1.0 blocks, standing as one of just 14 players in the league with at least one block and one steal per game this year and the only player to do so in less than 25 minutes per game.

Tillman has registered two of his six career double-doubles this season, including in the Grizzlies’ regular-season opener, when he scored 17 points and grabbed a season-high 12 rebounds. This season, Tillman posted a career-high five blocks on December 26 at New Orleans, and a career-best six steals on January 13 versus New York. In 184 career games with Memphis, he owns career averages of 5.0 points and 2.7 rebounds in 15.0 minutes per game.

The Grand Rapids, Michigan native was selected with 35th overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft after playing three seasons at Michigan State. During his collegiate career, Tillman was honored as the 2020 Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year and received the 2019 Big Ten Conference Sixth Man of the Year award.

Stevens appeared in 19 games for the Celtics this season and averaged 2.8 points and 1.6 rebounds in 6.4 minutes per game while shooting 46.7 percent from the floor.

BOSTON, MA –&nbsp;Boston Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla was named the NBA Eastern Conference Coach of the Month for games played in December, the league announced today. Mazzulla earns his second career monthly honor and is tied&nbsp;for the third most Coach of the Month awards in franchise history, behind Doc Rivers (6) and Brad Stevens (3).

The Celtics posted the best overall record in the league with a 12-2 mark while their .857 winning percentage ranks seventh in franchise history for the month of December&nbsp;and the highest since 2007-08 (.929). The C’s also owned the best winning percentage against .500 or better opponents with an 8-1 record (.889).

The Celtics’&nbsp;126.5 points per game ranked second in the NBA after the Bucks (131.5), and ranked fourth in NBA history for the highest December scoring average, behind the Atlanta Hawks in 2020-21 and Baltimore Bullets in 1965-66. Boston averaged the most three-pointers in the NBA with 16.6 makes per game behind the sixth-best three-point shooting percentage (39.2) and ranked third in effective field goal percentage (58.6).

The Celtics led the league in defensive rebounds (35.4) and also ranked second in blocks per game (7.1), rebounds (47.6), plus/minus (11.7), offensive rating (125.9), and net rating (11.2).&nbsp;The team held their opponents to 47.1 points in the paint, which stands as the fourth-lowest mark in the league.

The Celtics scored more than 125 points in four straight road games for the first time in franchise history during their California road trip from Dec. 19-25, including wins over the Kings (144-119), Clippers (145-108), and Lakers (126-115). Boston scored 144+ points in consecutive games for the first time in franchise history and became one of only three teams in NBA&nbsp;history to accomplish that&nbsp;feat on the road. Boston scored at least 920 total points over a seven-game span for the first time since 1962.

BOSTON, MA –&nbsp;The Boston Celtics announced today that the team has signed forward Drew Peterson to a two-way contract. Per team policy, terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Peterson (6-9, 205) appeared in 13 games (eight starts) this season for the Sioux Falls Skyforce, the G League affiliate of the Miami Heat, and averaged 15.2 points, 5.5 rebounds, 4.2 assists, and 1.0 steals in 33.8 minutes per game. The rookie ranked second on the team in made three-pointers (24-59 3FG) and total assists (54), while his 4.2 assists per game ranks 10th in the G League.&nbsp;

The Libertyville, Ill., native played two seasons at Rice before transferring to USC where he averaged 12.1 points and 5.8 rebounds in his three seasons with the Trojans. During the 2022-23 season, Peterson was second on the team with a 13.9 scoring average, while leading the team in rebounds per game (6.2) and total assists (143).

Peterson was named All-Pac-12 first team for the second consecutive season and was one of three NCAA Power 6 conference players to average at least 13.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 4.0 assists during the 2022-23 season. He served as one of USC's team captains and was named USC's co-MVP after helping the Trojans advance to the NCAA tournament for the third consecutive season. The fifth-year senior finished his collegiate career with 1,721 points, 897 rebounds, and 505 assists in 164 games.

BOSTON, MA –&nbsp;Boston&nbsp;Celtics All-Star forward Jayson Tatum has been named the Kia NBA Eastern Conference Player of the Month for October/November the NBA announced today. Tatum earns his&nbsp;third&nbsp;career NBA Player of the Month award and owns the third-most monthly honors in Celtics history, behind Paul Pierce (4) and Larry Bird (7).&nbsp;

Tatum led the Celtics to the best winning percentage in the Eastern Conference with a 14-4 overall record, while the team’s perfect 8-0 run at TD Garden marks the third time over the last 30 seasons (since 1993-94) that Boston has recorded an 8-0 or better home start.

Tatum averaged 27.7 points, 8.8 rebounds, and 4.1 assists in 18 appearances to start the 2023-24 NBA season. Tatum posted a team-high seven double-doubles and was one of only three NBA players to average at least 25.0 points while shooting 49.4 percent from the field and 36.1 percent from three-point territory (Kevin Durant and Tyrese Haliburton).

Tatum led all players with the best plus/minus (+168) in the league and ranked fourth in minutes played (666.4), sixth in defensive rebounds (145), and eighth in total points scored (499). The Duke alumnus was one of two Eastern Conference players who shot over 60.0 percent from two-point range, among players with at least 10 attempts per game (60.2% on 10.9 2PA), along with Giannis Antetokounmpo.

On Nov. 4, Tatum scored his 10,000th career point in the second quarter of the Celtics’ 124-114 win over the Brooklyn Nets and finished the night with 32 points and 11 rebounds. Tatum is the 10th player in NBA history to reach 10,000 career points before his 26th birthday, joining LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, Kevin Durant, Carmelo Anthony, Tracy McGrady, Devin Booker, Bob McAdoo, Giannis Antetokounmpo, and Dwight Howard. The St. Louis, MO native was named the NBA Eastern Conference Player of the Week on November 6.

Tatum posted a double-double on Nov. 8 at Philadelphia when he registered 16 points (6-14 FG) and pulled down the third-most rebounds in his career with 15 boards. On Nov. 6, Tatum registered 32 points (12-22 FG), five rebounds, and a career-high-tying five steals, becoming only the ninth player in Celtics history to record at least 30 points and five steals in a game.&nbsp;

In the Celtics’ 121-118 overtime loss at Charlotte on Nov. 20, Tatum matched his career-high with 31 points in the first half and finished with a season-high 45 points (15-28 FG, 7-15 3FG, 8-10 FT), 13 rebounds, six assists, and two blocks. Tatum became the second player in Celtics history to post at least 45 points, 13 rebounds, and six assists in a game, joining Larry Bird (4X). Dating back to the 1997-98 season, when play-by-play information was first tracked, Tatum became the first Celtic in franchise history to record at least 38 points and 11 rebounds through the first three-quarters of a game.

The Celtics extended their five-game winning streak with victories against Washington (126-107), Indiana (155-104), and Brooklyn (124-114).Tatum scored at least 30 points in all three contests while shooting 58.9 percent from the field and 54.2 percent from three and played in only the first three quarters of each game against Washington and Indiana. Jayson Tatum Named Eastern Conference Player of the Week

BOSTON, MA – Basketball and pride in one’s work are both part of New England’s DNA, and the 2023-24 Boston Celtics City Edition uniform honors both the origination of basketball in Springfield, MA, and the dedication to artisanship that has been a regional point of pride for centuries. The Celtics will wear this year’s City Edition uniform for the first time on Friday, November 10 to coincide with the team’s first NBA In-Season Tournament game.

The uniform leans into Boston being a community of creators. The team unveiled their City Edition uniforms at North Bennet Street School, located in Boston, MA. Founded in 1881, North Bennet Street School is the first trade school in America and was opened to preserve and advance craft traditions.

As a part of the City Edition launch, the Boston Celtics Shamrock Foundation is raffling off eight authentic 2023-24 City Edition jerseys autographed by current members of the roster, with proceeds benefiting the foundation’s outreach efforts which unite, empower, and uplift communities. To enter, you must be 18+ and located within Massachusetts at the time of entry.

Additionally, the Celtics and VistaPrint are hosting a group of season tickets members for a City Edition Celebration event at Jack’s Abby Craft Lagers that will celebrate the craft details of the uniform, as well as a behind the scenes look of the Celtics Official Craft Beer, Banner City.
