Memphis Grizzlies announce official license plate

The Grizzlies are inviting all of Grizz Nation to grit, grind and drive with the all-new launch of the official Memphis Grizzlies License Plate, available for purchase now at Grizzlies.com for just $35 (plus a $3 service fee). Proceeds from plate sales benefit the Grizzlies Foundation, whose mission is charged by using the power of sport to transform lives and closing the opportunity gap for children in underserved communities.

The new Grizzlies License Plate will be added to the specialty license plates available for Tennessee motorists with the purchase of 1000 plates through Grizzlies.com this upcoming season. The Tennessee State Legislature added the Memphis Grizzlies License Plate to its stock of sports specialty plates with the help of approved legislation from Senator Jim Kyle and Representative Larry Miller and the Shelby County Delegation.

"As a proud Memphian and Grizzlies fan, I will be buying one of these plates,” said Senator Jim Kyle. “This helps Memphis and helps a great cause and I was pleased to lead the effort with Rep. Larry Miller as we worked with the Grizzlies to make this possible. Without the help of the entire Shelby County Delegation this couldn’t have happened.”

“I’m excited for our fans to get the opportunity to showcase their support and spirit for the Grizzlies in their communities, and throughout their travels,” said Grizzlies President of Business Operations Jason Wexler. “We extend our gratitude to Senator Kyle and Rep. Larry Miller for their sponsorship of this endeavor, and to the entire Shelby County Delegation for their support.”

The plate features the Grizzlies’ signature three shades of blue and official logo. The Grizzlies License Plate cannot be customized and Tennessee State License Plate numbers will be issued at random by the Tennessee Department of Transportation.
