8 Reasons Why Tuesday Night At Philips Arena Was Awesome

There was so much awesomeness that happened Tuesday night at Philips Arena, so we wanted to give you one place where you could find it all.

This is that place:

1)  We retired Dikembe Mutombo's jersey.

That was the main attraction after all, and what a ceremony it was!  Watch it here if you missed it, complete with speeches from NBA Commissioner Adam Silver, Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed, former Hawk Steve Smith and owner Tony Ressler.

2)  We wore an all-red uniform combination for the first time this season.

It was lit, and fans reacted well to it.

3)  We produced a spectacular 3D Mutombo-themed court projection to honor the Hall-of-Famer.

4)  All fans received a foam finger.

Themed after Mutombo's signature finger wag, the foam fingers were a hit among fans.

5)  Jerseys arrived!

Our new jerseys arrived in the Hawks shop, and fans had the opportunity to purchase them Tuesday night at the game.  More jerseys will arrive soon.

6)  Fans had a chance to buy a custom Mutombo shirt.

The shirt highlights Mutombo's work both on and off the court.  All proceeds benefitted the Dikembe Mutombo Foundation:

7)  Players wore a #55 patch on their jerseys.

8)  We played perhaps our most complete game of the season in a 121-97 win.

Everybody contributed, and we were good on both sides of the ball in the victory.
