Former Hawks All-Star&nbsp;Joined the Organization in July 2022

ATLANTA&nbsp;–&nbsp;The Atlanta Hawks today announced&nbsp;that Kyle Korver has been elevated to the position of assistant general manager. Korver joined the&nbsp;Hawks&nbsp;in July 2022&nbsp;as director of player affairs & development.

“Kyle&nbsp;has brought a great perspective and voice to our group&nbsp;after&nbsp;seamlessly making&nbsp;the transition from&nbsp;playing&nbsp;to&nbsp;coaching&nbsp;to the&nbsp;front office,” said General Manager Landry Fields. “Moving forward, I’m excited to&nbsp;have&nbsp;him&nbsp;even more involved with&nbsp;the&nbsp;day-to-day&nbsp;management and&nbsp;direction of our basketball operations group.&nbsp;Kyle is a special person and teammate whose impact will continue to raise the level of our entire organization.&nbsp;He and his family have made Atlanta their home and&nbsp;we’re thrilled to have them as part of the Hawks family long term.”

Korver,&nbsp;who spent&nbsp;the 2021-22&nbsp;season as a player development assistant with the Brooklyn Nets, played in 332 regular season games over four-and-a-half seasons (2012-17)&nbsp;with the Hawks, including&nbsp;an&nbsp;All-Star appearance in 2015.&nbsp;He was also the NBA’s Sportsmanship Award recipient in 2014-15.

Korver&nbsp;appeared&nbsp;in 1,232 career regular season games (and 145 playoff contests) in 17 seasons with Philadelphia, Utah, Chicago, Atlanta, Cleveland and Milwaukee. He ranks fifth in NBA history in three-pointers made (2,450) and seventh in career three-point percentage (.429), including the best single-season mark in league history (.536 in 2009-10 with the Jazz). Korver is the only player to ever lead the league in three-point percentage four times.&nbsp;

Selected 51st&nbsp;overall in the 2003 NBA Draft, Korver was the two-time Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Year as a&nbsp;collegian&nbsp;at Creighton. Korver, 41, was born in Paramount, Calif. before his family relocated to Pella, Iowa.&nbsp;He and his wife, Juliet, have three children.

As we say goodbye to Kyle Korver, we look back on his top five moments in a Hawks uniform:

In his first month in a Hawks uniform, Korver hit a three in the closing seconds to give us the win over the Washington Wizards:

Korver doesn't dunk often, and it took until January of 2015 for him to get his first one as a Hawk.  But boy was it awesome:

Late in the 2014-15 season, Korver had a moment of magic, scoring 11 points in a 65-second span against Milwaukee:

Korver made his only All-Star Game in 2015.  He, along with three of his teammates, took the floor together under East All-Star Coach Mike Budenholzer:

In 2013, Korver broke a long-standing record held by Dana Barros for most consecutive games with a three-pointer when he did it in his 90th game.  The streak would eventually reach 127.

ATLANTA -- Hawks guard Kyle Korver left tonight’s game against the Los Angeles Lakers with 8:59 remaining in the second quarter with a nose injury.  A preliminary examination at Staples Center revealed a broken nose. He will not travel with the team to Sacramento and will be re-evaluated tomorrow in Los Angeles. His status will be updated as appropriate.

ATLANTA -- Kyle Korver, the NBA leader in 3FG% (.528), 3FGM (160) and FT% (.920), has been named to the Eastern Conference All-Star team by NBA Commissioner Adam Silver, and Korver will join teammates Al Horford, Paul Millsap and Jeff Teague in competing in the 2015 All-Star game on Sunday, Feb. 15 at Madison Square Garden in New York. Korver will replace Miami’s Dwyane Wade, who is unable to play due to injury. This marks the first time in franchise history Atlanta has had four All-Stars, and the eighth time in NBA history.

“We would like to thank Commissioner Silver for selecting Kyle as an All-Star. He is an integral part of our team and we are extremely proud that Kyle will be able to join his teammates Al, Paul and Jeff in being recognized this weekend,” said Head Coach Mike Budenholzer. “This is a positive reflection on all of the work the entire team, coaching staff and organization has put in this season.”

Korver is averaging 12.9 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.7 assists in 33.2 minutes (52 starts), and is second in the NBA in effective FG% (.707) and fourth in +/- ratio (+461). He has scored in double-figures 37 times, including six 20-point outings. He has made four-or-more three’s in a game 22 times.

The Hawks are currently a Conference-best 43-10 (.811), the best start in franchise history, including a 36-4 mark (.900) over the last 40 contests. Atlanta is currently on a 13-game win streak against Eastern Conference opponents, a franchise record. The Hawks earlier this season won 12 straight against Western opponents, also a franchise mark. From 12/17-1/17, the Hawks won 19 consecutive games, a franchise best, also tying the fifth-longest streak in NBA history.
